This is a Factory Seconds Practical Series Yagyu Katana from Yari No Hanzo. It has not been used but does have some issues outlined below as being defined as factory seconds...
Issues: Poor Tsuka core shape, straight split and loose ito. The tsuka core is oversized and the ito is not wrapped tightly. There is also a straight split down the seam. A lacquer job might tighten it up and make it suitable for Iaido. You may also be able to use wood glue to seal the split. There is also a poor habaki to blade alignment which can be seen in the photos. That being said, the blade has an interesting, non-common sugata. A good project sword.
A note about Yari No Hanzo Saya-They use a wax internally, presumably to prevent moisture from entering. While this works well, if you actually train with your sword, as the saya warms around your body, the wax will start depositing itself on the sword. This causes no problems other than additional cleaning at the end of keiko.
